About the Artist
Colombian by birth, I have a divided heart because I have lived in the United States half of my life.
My love and inspiration for painting started at a young age. I studied under the Studio work of David Manzur, where I saw and sketched the human figure. As an Undergraduate Student at “Universidad De Los Andes “, I pursued a career in Architecture in Bogota. This led me to search for different forms of expression through art. After a few years, I graduated with a degree in Interior Design taught by Camilo Lleras. During this time, I developed my interest in photography and studied the "History of Art" with Galador Carbonell.
My father’s, discipline encouraged my academic success, but it was my mother’s creative influences that inspired me to develop my manual talent in Fine Arts. To improve my oil skills & techniques, I attended classes at Miami Dade College with Maribel Cortez.
Today I share a piece of myself, through color and texture. Through these works of art, I express my vision. Bringing memories full of images & nostalgia, that represent dreams, realism and magic, so that each observer perceives and enjoys my art as something that is theirs as well. My intention is to always preserve the essence of who we really are.
I began exhibiting my art collection in March of 2011 at various events, festivals and art gallery expositions including but not limited to, " Wells Fargo Advisors -Night of Galleries “in Coral Gables ," The Hispanic Heritage Festival" and "Carnival on the mile" in Coral gables.
I want to thank my husband and children for their countless love and support.
Colombiana de nacimiento Y con el corazon dividido porque he vivido la mitadad de mi vida en los Estados Unidos. Mi inquietude a la pintura nace muy joven. Estudie en los talleres de David Manzur, donde tuve un accercamiento a la figura humana. Luego en la Universidad de Los Andes en Bogota estudie Arquitectura, lo cual me animo a buscar formas y expressiones en el arte. Mis raices paternas impulsaron mis estudios academico,pero las maternas me enfatizaron las habilidades manuales, donde el arte y lo plastico occupan un lugar muy importante, lo que me lleva a querer perfecionar la tecnica de oleo en Miami Dade college por varios anos.
Por muchos anos, esposa trabajadora madre y amiga, presento mi obra en donde intento que el color y la textura recojan memorias con imagenes llenas de nostalgia, que expresen suenos, realismos y un poco de magia, para que el observador lo inerprete y disfrute como algo suyo. Pretendo en mi obra conservar la essencia siempre de quien realmente somos. Recientemente participe como expositora, en "Noche de Gallerias" en Wells Fargo Advisors, Coral Gables Tambien en al Festival de la Herencia Hispana 2012, organizado por la fundacion de Arte de Coral Gables, tambien Carnaval de la milla en Miracle Mile en Coral Gables y otros eventos y gallerias de arte.
